The Missing Link

One of the gravest of mistakes that man makes is when he confuses the teaching on the pre-existent soul that evolves to perfection, with the Eastern and New Age concept of reincarnation.   And while the soul incarnates into many lives as it evolves to perfection, the popular idea of a person jumping from one body to the next, is fiction at best.   The Anathemas of the Emperor Justinian against the Church Father Origen did not in any measure even mention the word reincarnation -- but rather, was because of the early Churches teaching on the pre-existent soul which is represented in many of Origen's writings -- which when properly understood, has little in common with the Eastern and New Age teaching on reincarnation.    Physicist Niels Bohr said it all when he stated: "How wonderful that we have met with a paradox.  Now we have some hope of making progress".   And thus, those who come to this web site in order to gain a higher understanding of both Life and the teachings of Jesus and TheWay, should celebrate at their good fortune -- for, having encountered one of the greatest paradoxes of life, you have not become confronted with the door where there is "...some hope of making progress".    In coming to understand the Great Paradox that divides the mainstream Christian world from those who embrace the traditional teachings on reincarnation, we are presented with the paradoxical scenario that while both opposing positions possess truth, there is a greater truth on a higher plane that merges and marries the two paradoxical truths which are commonly embraced by man -- and it is in the offspring of this marriage of opposites where the Child of Higher Truth is Manifest that makes the two, "one flesh".

While, when properly understood, the traditional concept of reincarnation has no place in the teachings of Jesus and TheWay -- or for that matter, the reality of the soul -- it is also true that because the Christian world has adopted the beliefs and doctrines of Roman Emperors with respect to the teachings on the soul, the Church has consigned itself to an even greater error than the belief in reincarnation.   And it is this greater error which can be defined as being very pagan, and can be portrayed as the abyss of spiritual ignorance.   And while the Christian Church should be the Light to the World by virtue of its superior teachings, wisdom, understanding and viable path to Knowledge, in adopting the doctrines of Pagan Rome, the Church has relegated itself to what Jesus called the salt that has lost its purity, and is good only to be cast under the feet of men and be trampled.    Jesus taught the concepts of the pre-existent soul that evolves to perfection over the course of many lives.   When this teaching of Jesus was forcefully removed by the later Church of Rome, the Christian world was cast into the abyss of spiritual ignorance from which they have yet to climb out of.   It is not that reincarnation was an essential part of Jesus' teachings -- it was not!   But what it was, was an understanding of the process of soul-growth that permits all people to evolve out of the Alpha of Creation -- maturing through each stage and level of soul-development -- and emerging into the Omega-stage of Creation where the prodigal sons and daughters of the Most High God has returned from this, the "far country... outer darkness" of this world, and entered the Kingdom that each of us must find within ourselves in order to fulfill the requirement set forth at Matthew 5:48 where it states we must be Perfect, as our Heavenly Father.   The problem is seen in the fact that, few people understand man's relationship to his soul which does not incarnate into the body in the manner that the Eastern and New Age teachings set forth -- and neither can the Christian go to Glory with the Lord, so long as their own House remains divided -- and they remain detached from the higher reality of their soul.   And while Paul warned the confirmed and baptized believers that it was impossible for them in their "natural" organic condition as believers of the simple faith to understand the higher reality of the soul and the Mysteries of the Kingdom, few people who open their Bibles even comprehend the enigma of the words that Paul openly warned about (see Mystery).   

In the year 553 the Emperor Justinian convened the 5th Ecumenical Council where, quoting the Catholic Encyclopedia, "...the council opened on 5 May, 553, in spite of the protestations of Pope Vigilius, who though at Constantinople, refused to attend it... before the opening of the council, which had been delayed by the resistance of the pope, the bishops already assembled at Constantinople had to consider, by order of the emperor, a form of Origenism that had practically nothing in common with Origen..." Quoting the Britannica: "After the council, Justinian banished the pope to Egypt , and afterwards to an island, until he accepted the Council, which he ultimately did." The result is that the very foundational doctrines that are necessary to begin to mature beyond an elementary level, were not only anathema -- but have yet to be corrected to this very day.   In the same way that the religious doctrines of the pagan emperors were imposed on the church in the fourth century, this remained true into the sixth century when the doctrine of the pre-existent soul was outlawed.

Therefore, we arrive at the only possible answer from our very limited perspective and conclude that the Jewish disciples and earliest followers of Jesus must have been wrong, and he had to have been God to know all that he knew, and be able to do all that he did. Thus, the flaw in the thinking of the Church is in their inability to envision and comprehend the manner in which mankind grows and evolves to a state of spiritual maturity -- how man, the prodigal son, who was created in the image and likeness of God, his Heavenly Father, begins to take on all the attributes of his Creator and Parent. 	The Death Of Christianity! Read the eyewitness account about the Death of the Religion of esus (Christianity) -- or, what can be called the Destruction of TheWay and the Second Fall of Man.  The events of the fourth century replaced the teachings of Jesus with a Pagan religion which is now called Christianity -- a counterfeit religion that continues to this very day -- and with the death of the Living Word and the worship of a religious corpse, thereby bringing about the rape, pilferage and demise of mankind from a spiritual perspective -- as the genuine followers of Jesus were hunted down and killed to silence the voice of the Truth!
	Bible Corruption  The Grave Christian Misconception:  Modern day Christian doctrine rests upon the premise that God preserved the Bible in an absolute infallible and pure state, in order that all men should know the (historical) truth and believe in the Son of God. Their doctrinal position is that if God permitted the Bible to have been altered, then the present day church could not be genuine. Based upon this dogmatic presumption that the Christian Church must be maintained in order for man to be saved, they reason that God would not allow the written word of the scriptures to be corrupted. Thus, modern Christians cling to this doctrine -- ignoring overwhelming evidence to the contrary -- evidence that demonstrates conclusively that our Bible has been severely altered and edited -- because they fail to grasp the very foundational principles of the New Covenant itself -- principles that are not historical, but spiritual. It is not until we understand that the Bible is a road-map that leads us to the Gate of the Kingdom, and the Word that is written in our hearts -- rather than a final revelation from God to man -- that we are able to even begin to come to terms with the Spiritual Gospel of Messiah/Christ that can never be corrupted.

	The Gospel Of The Nazirenes   What did the Gospels look like before being edited and re-written by the Church of Rome? What were the original beliefs of the first followers of Yeshua? You will be astonished when you read a surviving text of The Gospel of the Nazirenes which was hidden away from the corrupters of the Roman Church.  Are you ready for a truly enlightening experience?  In the Gospel of the Nazirenes all the primary doctrines of the Ebionites are confirmed.  Can you afford to cling to the doctrines of Constantine and the Pagan Church of Rome which is the foundation of modern Christian doctrine?   Or are you ready to embrace the Truth and the Light of TheWay?
	The Key Of Knowledge The Fourth Century Church of Constantine threw away the Key Of Knowledge that Yeshua warned was necessary to enter into the Kingdom Within.   In throwing away the Key of Knowledge, and living in accordance with their own manmade doctrines and traditions, Christians have made themselves apostates to the Kingdom of God: “Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge; you did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered” (Luke 11:52).    And thus, while Christians attempt to read the scriptures, they see not!   And while they hear the oracles of the Living Word, their ears are deaf.   And while they attempt to embrace the Living Word, in the manner of the Sadducees and Pharisees they understand it not -- because their hearts have been hardened from the teachings of Yeshua/Jesus and TheWay.
	The original teachings   The original disciples were Ebionites of the Nazirene Vow of Consecration.  These original teachings of Yeshua are restored and presented on the Ebionite web site @ http://Ebionite.com .   What were the original teachings?    While they very much retained their Jewish foundation, they were also very different.   So different, that the New Testament can in fact be portrayed as the Sons of Light in the form of Yeshua and his Disciples vs the sons of darkness in the form of the carnal Jews who threw away the Key of Knowledge in their carnal interpretations of the written word.
	It was said of the Church Father Origen by St. Gregory of Nyssa that he was “the prince of Christian learning in the Third Century” -- and the Encyclopedia Britannica calls him “…the most prominent of all the church fathers”.  But how did he become the man that St. Jerome considered to be “the greatest teacher of the Church after the Apostles”?   According to the soul who lived as Origen, he had previously lived as the disciple and scribe of Jacob who people call James, who was the Brother of Jesus.   And from that life with Jacob, he learned to write scriptures in Hebrew Characters, and he worked on the original source scriptures which has since come to be called the New Testament scriptures of the Bible.   On his web site, Emmanuel Pohorecki reveals not only the accounts of the many lifetimes that he has lived, but also his own journey into the presence of his soul-self -- i.e., his true self who is the Being of Light.   And once again Emmanuel has demonstrated that you don't need to physically die to communicate with, and enter into the presence of your soul-self who is the Being of Light in the Near Death Experience.   And in his soon to be completed article on the Journey of the Soul and Visions from his Higher Self, he will write about what his soul-self has taught him while in the Realm of Souls.   Emmanuel provides other important insights in man's higher reality with his account of his life with Fr. He who has ears to hear, let him hear"

(Luke 14:33-35 NIV).

 

Modern Christians can't know the means by which the soul of man is perfected, because they continue to embrace the thinking and mindset of this world, and have attempted to become a believer without undergoing the process of spiritual transformation.   While believers of the simple faith are prone to embrace a great multitude of doctrines, the disciple who is taught the Mysteries of God must be separate from the thinking, mindset and lifestyle of the people of this world -- i.e., “Wherefore, come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2 Cor 6:17).   In many instances the Greek word that we translate the “pure” Word of God, in fact means the mixtureless Word of God.   And since the Anointing (Messiah/Christ) comes to us in the form of a dove, we must make ourselves a fit and consecrated vessel that is "mixtureless" with respect to the thinking and lifestyle of the people of this world.   And when we come to understand this requirement in conjunction with the place in which Jesus instructed us to look for the Kingdom; i.e., “One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, When will the Kingdom of God begin? Jesus replied, The Kingdom of God isn’t ushered in with visible signs. You won’t be able to say, It has begun here in this place or there in that part of the country. For the Kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:20-21 TLB) -- and we perceive this inner Kingdom in conjunction with the words of the Apostle where he wrote: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” (1 Cor 3:16 KJV) -- only then can we begin to comprehend the requirement that we be “mixtureless as a dove”. in order move beyond the entry-level "milk" of the Gospel, and become disciples who are able to receive the revelation of the Mysteries of God.

While many modern-day Christians would like to think that they have fulfilled the requirements of life by calling on the name of the Lord as their personal Savior -- and that, they have inherited the promise that the Lord will never leave them -- they arrive at this defective conclusion by rejecting many important biblical teachings.   If the Christian is the salt of the earth, and if Christians lose their purity because of a lack of "mixturelessness" with respect to the cultural thinking of this world and the infusion of the doctrines of men, then we must ask: "...how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear"

What does it mean to have lost one's purity, and no longer be suitable to be the "salt of the earth", and as a consequence of this impure condition, to be "...thrown out"?   Perhaps an easy way to answer this question is to turn to the parable of the Wedding Feast -- and the question as to who can attend this inner spiritual celebration.    The required "wedding garment" is representative of this same mixtureless purity -- and thus, it was said: “And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.’ For many are called, but few are chosen” (Matt 22:12-14 RSV).    Like the modern-day Christians, the man had heard TheCall, and had come when summoned, but he lacked the required garment of mixtureless purity, and he was bound hand and foot and cast out into "the outer darkness".   But where is this outer darkness?   In view of the fact that the Kingdom is within us, and our very body-vessel is the true Temple of God, the outer darkness is the outer levels of mind and consciousness that the prodigal sons and daughters of the Most High must endure until they release themselves from the servitude and shackles of the god of this world, and enter the Kingdom within (see Gate Of Eden).   

Christians Can't Know The Mysteries Of God

Having lost their purity, they can no longer perceive or comprehend either the spiritual meaning of the scriptures (see The Pursuit Of God By The Letter That Killeth), and because they are no longer mixtureless, they dwell in "the outer darkness".

The Great Doctrinal Quagmire

 

With the understanding of the process of soul-growth and evolution removed from the teachings of Jesus by the Church of Rome, a doctrinal void was created that inhibited the believers from understanding how the prodigal sons and daughters returned from this, "the far country... outer darkness" -- and without understanding the process of soul and spiritual evolution or even the purpose of life in this physical realm, the vast majority of Christian believers became lost in a manmade doctrinal quagmire.     

Why a quagmire?   Because the Church of Rome suppressed certain essential teachings of Jesus in their attempt to create an institutionalized church which would serve the needs and requirements of the Roman Emperors and government, 

 

 

The Teachings of TheWay

The teachings of Yeshua/Jesus which are known as TheWay was a purely spiritual religion -- practiced by a purely spiritual people known as Essenes, Nazirenes and Ebionites.  These sacred teachings became impure when placed in the hands of the Gentiles, and totally corrupted under Constantine and Pagan Rome.   What Yeshua taught is that the Kingdom is within us, and we must enter in at the "narrow gate" while still alive in the physical body in order to enter into Life.   Because the 4th century pagan Christians murdered the spiritual Christians, modern believers no longer comprehend the true spiritual meaning of the Gospel.   In the manner of the Jewish sects of the Sadducees and Pharisees, they look outwardly for the Kingdom to come upon the earth -- an event which Yeshua said would never happen (Lk 17:20-21) -- instead of picking up their own cross and following in TheWay by imitating the life of Yeshua.  

The Essence of TheWay

Yeshua/Jesus did not come to promote belief in the Messiah/Christ - neither did he come to promote the worship of Messiah/Christ - Yeshua came to teach the people TheWay to become Messiah/Christ, and fulfill the vision of a Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation of Anointed (Messiah/Christ) Disciples who are set aside for the service of the Most High God that Yeshua taught was the Father of all of mankind. But the majority of the Roman and Greek followers who were too Pagan to embrace the teachings of Yeshua, were not interested in a life of genuine change and spiritual transformation, so they made Jesus their God so they didn't have to pick up their own cross and follow in TheWay. Thus, the Church itself betrayed and crucified Messiah/Christ when it immersed itself in the way of the heathen, and worshiped the messenger instead of imitating the pattern and example that Yeshua set as the required standard for all those who called upon the name of the Lord. The Good News is that once you understand and are willing to live in accordance with the Original teachings of the New Covenant, the Promise is that you will Know the Truth for yourself as you are permitted entrance into the Kingdom within you (Lk 17:20-21).

 When Yeshua was asked what a person must do to inherit eternal life, he was told to keep the Commandments (Mt 19:17).  Paul said that man is saved through faith, but Paul was a Gnostic who understood that the rituals of the Jews cannot provide a person entrance into the Kingdom within (see http://GateOfEden.com ).   Traditionally, it has been near impossible to convey to people of what Paul refers to as being of a "natural" mind (1 Cor 2:14), that in order to comprehend the Mysteries of God that natural man would judge as "foolishness", they will have to develop areas of mind that are currently beyond their reach.   And while you are attempting to do this, you will be vehemently opposed by men dressed as priests and clergy who speak in the authority of either the Church or even God, telling the people that you are demon possessed.   In fact, the Church and clergy itself has become an obstacle to spiritual growth and the development of the prodigal sons who are shackled to the dark abyss of this world by their system of manmade beliefs.

The people of the simple faith use a Corrupted Bible where many important teachings of Yeshua were removed, and others altered in an attempt to support a secular institutionalized Church, rather than a Spiritual.   Even when the Church is confronted with the facts that Yeshua was a true holy man who became the Messiah/Christ at his baptism (see The Challenge), they ignore the facts, and the reality that the earliest of followers of Yeshua did not believe that he was God (see http://Ebionite.com ).   In worshipping Yeshua, instead of imitating the pattern of his life as our elder brother, the Churches have obstructed TheWay of the people into the Kingdom in the manner that the Sadducees and Pharisees did before them.

Because the Bible was edited, and important teachings of TheWay removed, modern Christians no longer understand that the historical Yeshua was a man who became perfect over the course of many lifetimes -- and we too must undergo the same process of Spiritual Transformation and Perfection.     We are the prodigal sons/daughters of our Heavenly Father -- Yeshua is our elder brother who was the first to return to the Edenic Kingdom of Origination -- we presently dwell in what the Bible refers to as "the far country... outer darknss", and we can only return when we take the yoke of Messiah/Christ upon us, pick up our own cross and journey in TheWay.    With these important teachings of the Yeshua removed by the Church of Constantine, believers are not able to understand that the biblical doctrine of preordination and predestination which is of paramount importance throughout the scriptures, is the result of our own past actions in our previous lives -- i.e., each of us reaps what we sow (Gal 6:7).   And this is why the person of the simple faith cannot even become a disciple of Yeshua and TheWay, without opening their minds to the Higher Mysteries of the Kingdom.

What is our true spiritual reality?  The authors of the Bible itself attempt many times to warn the reader that they are in no way prepared to even envision their own true spiritual reality.   While most Christians ignore what they fail to comprehend, it must be understood that a carnal person who uses less than 10% of his potential of mind -- i.e., a person of a purely natural mindset whose thinking is very much attached and dependent on the culture and things of this world -- are for the most part totally unaware of man’s inner soul and spiritual reality.   Because their whole focus in life is directed outwardly, it is near impossible for them to even perceive and comprehend the spiritual concepts of the Bible -- and it is of these people, even when they claim to be believers in the gospel, of whom the Apostle Paul wrote that the things of the spirit appear to be "foolishness" (1 Cor 2:14) to them.   In our endeavor to embrace reality through the higher teachings of the Word of God that Paul warns is beyond human comprehension, it is important that we recognize the universality of the Apostle’s words with respect to what he calls the “natural man” who is too carnal in his manner of thinking to even contemplate the Mysteries of God.   And to these baptized and committed believers who he refers to as “babes in Christ” (1 Cor 3:1-2), Paul states: I will “...tell about the visions I've had, and revelations from the Lord. Fourteen years ago I was taken up to heaven for a visit. Don't ask me whether my body was there or just my spirit, for I don't know; only God can answer that. But anyway, there I was in paradise, and heard things so astounding that they are beyond a man's power to describe or put in words (and anyway I am not allowed to tell them to others)” (2 Cor 12:1-4 TLB).   What did Paul see and experience that was not only beyond natural man's ability to comprehend, but was not lawful to tell what he saw to others?   

In the Martyrdom of Ignatius (first Century Overseer of Antioch), Ignatius speaks of himself as a disciple of John.  In his Epistle to the Ephesians he writes that he has been “initiated into the mysteries of the Gospel with Paul, the holy, the martyred”.  In his Epistle to the Trallaus he speaks of the mysteries and writes: “Might I not write to you things more full of mystery?  But I fear to do so, lest I should inflict injury on you who are babes.  Pardon me in this respect, lest, as not being able to receive their weighty import, ye should be strangled by them”.  Ignatius also writes that though he is aware of the mysteries, he is not yet “by any means perfect, nor am I such a disciple as Paul or Peter”.    What preacher of the gospel today warns his congregation that if he was to reveal the true teachings of the New Covenant -- the Gospel of God -- he would “inflict injury on you who are babes” in Christ?   What teaching of the Lord could a present-day preacher of the gospel reveal that the congregation of believers are not “able to receive their weighty import”?   If Ignatius or the other early Church Fathers who knew the Mysteries of the Kingdom of God were with us today, what profound mystery could they speak regarding the true teachings of Jesus that believers today would be “strangled by them”?    And while we permit our children to be robbed of the knowledge of their own higher reality through the mass propagation of Darwinism and the Theory of Evolution which is little more than junk science, we ignore the findings of Modern Science with proves the validity of the visionaries who authored the Bible (see Science Proves Religion).    

With respect to what Christians believe today, Paul warned that until they underwent the process of spiritual transformation, they could only be given the "milk" of the gospel: “I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready” (1 Cor 3:2 NIV).   Again it is important to understand the words of the Apostle when he warned that: “Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil” (Heb 5:13-14 NIV).   The very words, “…who by constant use have trained themselves”, implies a faith that is thoroughly incorporated into a spiritual mindset and manner of living in accordance with the Royal Law of the Most High.   Further, with respect to the level of truth, what the Apostle is stating is this: If you are still living and believing the “milk” of the Gospel -- i.e., “Jesus Christ, and him crucified” (1 Cor 2:2 KJV); and in the words of the Apostle: “Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment” (Heb 6:1-2 NIV) -- then the Apostle states that such a person whose thinking is still bound by a carnal perception of the Word, “is still an infant, [and] is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness” (Heb 5:13).   Why?   Because these are the doctrines that were given to the “babes in Christ” (1 Cor 3:1 KJV) -- entry-level believers who were yet too carnal to comprehend the genuine revelation of the Christ of the Spirit and the Mysteries of God.   Moreover, from a biblical perspective, the most egregious of sin against the Holy Spirit was for the believer to be stagnant, and remain an entry level Christian -- as is the case in the modern church today.

These facts conveyed to us by the Apostle Paul go to the very core of why spiritual truths are embodied in physical symbols when they are set before the people of the simple faith?   In the words of the Church Father Origen, the resurrection was “preached in the Churches... for the simpleminded and for the ears of the common crowd who are led on to live better lives by their belief”.   When Jesus warned that: “Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:27 NAS); the overcoming of the flesh and the lower nature, which is represented in the resurrection, is the resurrection spoken of by St. Gregory’s when he wrote, “the Resurrection is no other thing than ‘the re-constitution of our nature in its original form’”.   And this higher spiritual reality -- which is our true spiritual reality as the prodigal sons and daughters of the Most High -- is the reality that is beyond carnal human comprehension -- and thus, can only be presented to entry-level seekers as the "milk" of the gospel that was intended to nourish "babes in Christ".

Yeshua, Paul, And The Early Church Taught Reincarnation!

What were the conditions of your birth?  Your life?     The life you are presently living was the result of choices you made, and the manner in which you lived, prior to your birth into your present life.    When Paul wrote about the conditions of people's lives, he did not say that each person has free will and choices -- but rather, that each persons life was pre-determined prior to their birth.  As an example of this Divine Providence in the life of the individual, the Apostle gives the example of Jacob and Esau, and writes: “For though the twins were not yet born, and had not done anything good or bad, in order that God's purpose according to His choice might stand, not because of works, but because of Him who calls, it was said to her, The older will serve the younger. Just as it is written, Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated” (Rom 9:11-13 NAS).   What the Apostle is stating here is that before either of the twins had been born, before either had “done anything good or bad”, God not only decided their fate in life, but for no apparent reason, He hated Esau and loved Jacob.   Why?   Paul offers no explanation other than God does what he wants to do -- and man does not have the right to question God's choices in these matters.   This is especially seen in the words: “Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?” (Rom 9:21 NKJ).   And if we pose the question as to what degree life on earth is predestined?   It is at this point where the biblical teaching of predestination gets really frightening to the unenlightened and the believers of the simple faith -- as demonstrated in Yeshua's own words when he said: “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's will” (Matt 10:29 RSV).   If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without the Will of the Father, then we have no other option than to come to terms with the biblical fact that everything in this life is directly orchestrated by God?   On this verse the Adam Clark Commentary states: “The providence of God extends to the minutest things; everything is continually under the government and care of God, and nothing occurs without his will or permission”.

Admittedly, if it truly difficult for the modern Christian to understand the doctrine of predestination -- and even the Bible itself -- because it was severely edited by the Church of Rome (see Corruption Of Scriptures).  The truth and the facts to the matter is very clearly expressed in the words of Prof. Bart D. Ehrman in his book, The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture, where he warns us that: "...theological disputes, specifically disputes over Christology, prompted Christian scribes to alter the words of scripture in order to make them more serviceable for the polemical task. Scribes modified their manuscripts to make them more patently ‘orthodox’ and less susceptible to ‘abuse’ by the opponents of orthodoxy" -- which orthodoxy was to bring the text of the Bible into conformity with the doctrines and tenets of the Church of the Roman Emperor Constantine.   In his book The Text of the New Testament, Dr. Vincent Taylor writes that "The manuscripts of the New Testament preserve traces of two kinds of dogmatic alterations: those which involve the elimination or alteration of what was regarded as doctrinally unacceptable or inconvenient, and those which introduce into the Scriptures proof for a favorite theological tenet or practice".   One of the most common biblical manuscripts used to make our modern English translations is known today as the Nestle Text. Yet it was Prof. Eberhard Nestle himself who warned us in his Einfhrung in die Textkritik des griechischen Testaments: "Learned men, so called Correctores were, following the church meeting at Nicea 325 AD, selected by the church authorities to scrutinize the sacred texts and rewrite them in order to correct their meaning in accordance with the views which the church had just sanctioned." When the Church of Constantine endeavored to make the teachings of the New Covenant in sync with fourth century Roman Pagan thought and culture, to ignore the facts with respect to the manner in which the corrupters of the Word recreated the message of the scriptures in order to make it compatible to church doctrine, is to make oneself disingenuous to the very Son of God to whom we proclaim to be faithful to.

One of the major teachings of Yeshua which was removed from the New Testament was that the pre-existent soul evolves to perfection (Mt. 5:48) over the course of many lifetimes -- and each person's life is pre-determined in accordance with their past prior to being born into their present life.   Thus, the words of the 3rd century Church Father Origen who wrote: “Every soul... comes into this world strengthened by the victories or weakened by the defeats of its previous life” (Origen, De Principiis).

In the approximate year of 178 of our Common Era, Celsus, the Epicurean Philosopher and opponent of Christianity, published a rather embarrassing work in opposition to Christianity known as The True Word or Discourse.    It is said that this work was widely published and used by the Pagan world as an attack on the Church.   Seventy years after its publication The True Word was still so widely circulated, that the Church Father Origen was commissioned by St. Ambrosius to refute this attack by Celsus.   In examination of this document, the modern Christian must initially ask: Who today would accuse the Christian Church of being a “secret system”?   No one -- because the Church today has lost its spiritual essence -- and is a mere shadow of its former self over the first three centuries of its existence.   Therefore, it is important that we recognize that such an allegation would be unheard of in our present time.  Celsus attacked the Church for being a “secret system”, teaching the masses the resurrection, and the spiritually mature the doctrine of the pre-existent soul and reincarnation.    Though this may astonish the modern believer, Origen does not refute Celsus, but rather explains that: “But on these subjects much and that of a mystical kind, might be said; in keeping with which is the following: It is good to keep close the secret of a king, (Tobit xii, 7), in order that the doctrine of the entrance of souls into bodies, not, however, that of the transmigration from one body into another, may not be thrown before the common understanding, nor what is holy given to the dogs, nor pearls be cast before swine.  For such a procedure would be impious, being equivalent to a betrayal of the mysterious declaration of God's Wisdom”.    

“It is good to keep secret the entrance of souls into bodies”, Origen writes, but “not… the transmigration from one body into another”.   In other words, Origen openly acknowledges that the pre-existence of the soul, as well as the doctrine of reincarnation are openly revealed to Christians who have been purified and matured sufficiently to comprehend the mysteries of God, while the knowledge of why the soul even came into this world is kept secret, and is not openly revealed to carnal minds.   In explanation, Origen quotes scripture and writes that “It is good to keep close the secret of a king”, and affirms that certain mysteries only belong to the spiritually mature in the word that one should not permit “what is holy given to the dogs, nor pearls be cast before swine”.    In explanation, the doctrine of the physical resurrection of the body, says Origen, is misunderstood by the spiritually unaware, and writes that it was “preached in the Churches… for the simpleminded and for the ears of the common crowd who are led on to live better lives by their belief”.  

In his famed word De Principiis, Origen explains why it is written that God loved Jacob and hated Esau before they wer born, and explains Paul's statement why some people are born vessels of gold, while others vessels of wrath: “For God must be believed to do and order all things and at all times according to His judgment. For the words which the apostle uses when he says, ‘In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and of earth, and some to honor and some to dishonor;' and those which he adds, saying, 'If a man purge himself, he will be a vessel unto honor, sanctified and meet for the Master's use, unto every good work,' undoubtedly point out this, that he who shall purge himself when he is in this life, will be prepared for every good work in that which is to come; while he who does not purge himself will be, according to the amount of his impurity, a vessel unto dishonor, i.e., unworthy. It is therefore possible to understand that there have been also formerly rational vessels, whether purged or not, i.e., which either purged themselves or did not do so, and that consequently every vessel, according to the measure of its purity or impurity, received a place, or region, or condition by birth, or an office to discharge, in this world. All of which, down to the humblest, God providing for and distinguishing by the power of His wisdom, arranges all things by His controlling judgment, according to a most impartial retribution, so far as each one ought to be assisted or cared for in conformity with his deserts. In which certainly every principle of equity is shown, while the inequality of circumstances preserves the justice of a retribution according to merit. But the grounds of the merits in each individual case are only recognized truly and clearly by God Himself, along with His only-begotten Word, and His Wisdom, and the Holy Spirit”.    

Origen again demonstrates that our lot in life is the result of our own deserts, and writes: “For God the Creator makes a certain vessel unto honor, and other vessels to dishonor; but that vessel which has cleansed itself from all impurity He makes a vessel unto honor, while that which has stained itself with the filth of vice He makes a vessel unto dishonor. The conclusion from which, accordingly, is this, that the cause of each one's actions is a pre-existing one; and then every one, according to his deserts, is made by God either a vessel unto honor or dishonor. Therefore every individual vessel has furnished to its Creator out of itself the causes and occasions of its being formed by Him to be either a vessel unto honor or one unto dishonor. And if the assertion appear correct, as it certainly is, and in harmony with all piety, that it is due to previous causes that every vessel be prepared by God either to honor or to dishonor, it does not appear absurd that, in discussing remoter causes in the same order, and in the same method, we should come to the same conclusion respecting the nature of souls, and (believe) that this was the reason why Jacob was beloved before he was born into this world, and Esau hated, while he still was contained in the womb of his mother”.    

Everything that we know about Creation affirms that all things are controlled by natural laws.   Whether it be the movement of the heavenly bodies, the atmospheric and elemental currents of the world in which we dwell, right down to the atomic and genetic fabric and structure of life itself.   All of life is immersed in a sea of natural law that controls every aspect of creation.   The very prediction of the atomic bomb as theorized by Einstein, is proof that once man is able to envision the laws that control every aspect of Creation, he is able to successfully foresee the eventual results.    The underlying principle of the scriptures that is confirmed by the people of the New Covenant -- whether Jewish or Gentile -- prior to the institutionalization of the church in the fourth century, is that our deeds and accomplishments in life remain with us -- and because of our interaction with the natural laws that control this world, it is our own deeds, caused by our own actions, that is returned to us in the future -- which future can be in our present life, or a future life when we again re-enter this world.   Heed the words of the Apostle when he warned: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (Gal 6:7 NIV).   If a soul, then, enters this world as a “vessel of wrath prepared for destruction” (Rom 9:22), that soul is responsible for their lot in life that was brought about by virtue of his own pre-existent deeds and actions.   If a soul enters this life as a “vessel for honor” (Rom 9:21 NKJ), this good that has been inherited is the result of that soul’s efforts to “cleanse himself” from the defilements of this world, in order that “he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2 Tim 2:21 NKJ).   That our deeds and the desires of our heart -- whether good, bad or indifferent -- remain with us as we interact with the Laws of Creation that God invoked when this realm came into existence, is the understanding that we must possess in order to even begin to comprehend the biblical doctrine of predestination -- and ultimately the Bible and Life itself.  

The Scriptural Paradox

That Alienates Believers From Understanding The Bible

The scriptures contain a multitude of paradoxes that the seeker of Truth must come to understand.   In observing the all-important and far-reaching elements of one of the primary paradoxes of predestination and freewill -- the dilemma of which is presented in the words of the Rev. Charles Spurgeon when he wrote in his autobiography: “The system of truth revealed in the Scriptures is not simply one straight line, but two; and no man will ever get a right view of the gospel until he knows how to look at the two lines at once.  For instance, I read in one Book of the Bible, The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come.  And let him who is athirst, Come.  And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely [Rev. 22:17].  Yet I am taught, in another part of the same inspired Word, that it is not of he who wills, nor of he who runs, but of God Who shows mercy [Rom 9:16].  I see, in one place, God in providence presiding over all, and yet I see, and I cannot help seeing, that man acts as he pleases, and that God has left his actions, in a great measure, to his own free-will.  Now, if I were to declare that man was so free to act that there was no control of God over his actions, I should be driven very near to atheism; and if, on the other hand, I should declare that God so over-rules all things that man is not free enough to be responsible, I should be driven at once into Antinomianism or fatalism.  That God predestines, and yet that man is responsible, are two facts that few can see clearly.  They are believed to be inconsistent and contradictory, but they are not.  The fault is in our weak judgment.  Two truths cannot be contradictory to each other.  If, then, I find taught in one part of the Bible that everything is fore-ordained, that is true; and if I find, in another Scripture, that man is responsible for all his actions, that is true; and it is only my folly that leads me to imagine that these two truths can ever contradict each other” (Charles H. Spurgeon, Autobiography Vol. 1: The Early Years. pp. 173, 174).

Do we have free will?   In many places of the scriptures it appears to suggest that we do.   And yet, in many other places the Bible reveals that Divine Providence -- which is the Will of God -- totally rules over every aspect of our lives.   The greater reality that believers must come to terms with is the very factual words of Rev. Spurgeon that those who attempt to read the Bible "...will [never] get a right view of the gospel until he knows how to look at the two lines at once.   And while we can still see the doctrine of predestination throughout the pages of the scriptures -- it being one of the primary concepts expressed -- because the 4th century Church of Constantine removed the teachings on the pre-existent soul, believers today can never understand the spiritual revelation of the written word -- and are therefore obstructed from entering the Kingdom within.   If, therefore, we profess to believe in the Bible, and we desire to embrace the Light, we must not accept one of these paradoxical realities while rejecting the other.   We must instead embrace the premises that both are equally true.  Perhaps even more difficult to understand is the fact that the Bible clearly teaches that we are responsible for the Divine Will that God exerts in our life.   In the words of Yeshua: “Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they come!” (Matt 18:7 NIV)   Why must they come?   Because God has willed it.   Again we must admit what the Apostle tells us at Romans 11:32 as seen in the commentary Barnes' Notes which writes of the word that we translate concluded, shut up, bound, committed and consigned: “It is properly used in reference to those who are shut up in prison”.   Only when we begin to accept the fact that the life we are presently living has been individually designed to meet our personal needs, and it is as if we have been imprisoned by a Higher Spiritual Power to live out the circumstances and events in our life, are we able to get a sense of the purpose of life itself.    But without understanding why we have been bound to a personal prison, and that our own actions has shackled us and brought about the life we are presently living, it will be impossible for us to become disciples of Yeshua and inherit the Promise of True Spiritual Freedom.

In the same way that “Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him…”, we can progress no further in our own walk in The Way until we first understand why these people did not believe in Yeshua, as seen in the words: “For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere: ‘He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts’” (John 12:37-40 NIV).   Contrary to what we want to believe, it is important for us to realize what the Bible actually states -- i.e., that the people who did not accept Yeshua, did not reject him of their own accord, but because God did not permit them to believe in Yeshua.   The problem is that, from a church perspective, when we acknowledge this very clearly defined biblical fact, we not only undermine the whole political structure of the church because what the Bible is actually confirming is that man not only does not possess the freewill that gives him the ability to choose to come to Yeshua, but we further destroy the popular idea that Yeshua was the all-inclusive savior that modern Christianity portrays him to be.    As demonstrated on the web site Things Christians Don't Tell Jews About The New Testament, the Bible teaches that God did not want many of the Jews to believe in Yeshua.   And in like manner, God inhibits many Christians from comprehending the Higher Mysteries of the Gospel -- and it is the hardening of the heart and mind that inhibits them from understanding what I have written of this and other web sites.
